Alisson Becker was ruled out of the clash against Brighton on Wednesday night.
The 28-year-old misses out through illness, however it remains to be seen if it’s COVID-related which would rule him out for the next two weeks.
His absence from the squad begs the question as to whether he will be fit to play Manchester City on Sunday.
The rumours surfaced in the early afternoon with reports that the Brazilian shot-stopper was going to miss out.
There has been a running trend this season, that when a rumour sparks surrounding an injury that it turns out to be true.
Last week, prior to Liverpool’s 3-1 win over West Ham, images were released showing makeshift centre-back absent from the Reds training session at Leyton Orient’s ground.
He did go on to miss the win with Jordan Henderson filtering in at centre-back.

Pre-Match Alisson Worries
The wait between the rumours beginning and the match day squad announcement was agonising.
Previously, when Alisson was injured former-West Ham ‘keeper Adrian would take his place.
That has since changed as Caoimhin Kelleher shone for Jurgen Klopp, making his Premier League debut against Wolves before enjoying two games in the Champions League against Ajax and Midtjylland.
Coincidentally, the Reds goalkeeper is the face of the match day programme. Is this a bad omen for the players?
Whilst another fan begged to announce the shot-stopped would be fit to play tonight.
The dreaded news…
The 28-year-old will sit out for the third illness/injury this season and it is yet to be seen on how many games he will miss.
Thankfully, it is just an illness.
Much to the relief of many.
Even Trent wasn’t happy…
