Liverpool legend and Premier League champion Adam Lallana has hailed his sides 0-1 victory over the Reds.
The English midfielder made his first appearance at Anfield since signing with Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer.
The former Red was subbed on in the 67th minute after an injury to Brighton’s Solly March. There was an extended delay after March was given medical attention and eventually made way for Lallana to come on for The Seagulls.
To beat the Premier League champions you need a performance that’s close to perfect… the boys did that last night 🔵⚪ It was a privelege to be back at the place that is so special to me and to see people who will always be family ❤️ As the saying goes, “form is temporary, class is permanent.” This Liverpool side is a class act in every respect 💪 #BHAFC #YNWAAdam Lallana on Instagram
Emotional Liverpool Return
This was an emotional return to home for both parties involved and everyone was happy to have the Englishman home, especially Jurgen Klopp.
“I will have to stop myself saying too much on Adam Lallana because I could write a book. But I must mention what a special person he was for us.”Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp on Adam Lallana
“When he left, I described him as a Liverpool legend for his contribution and I read somewhere recently he felt a little embarrassed by that. But he absolutely shouldn’t. It’s a status he has earned and then some.”Jurgen Klopp on Adam Lallana’s Liverpool legacy
The Liverpool Manager and former Red walked off the pitch side by side, much like they did for many Liverpool matches.
The Anfield supporters should look to Lallana’s words and see that there is hope for this side.
