A report in France has claimed that Amiens are trying to sign Adam Lewis on loan from Liverpool. RMC Sport’s Loïc Tanzi reports that the Ligue 2 club are hoping to sign the defender on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy the 20-year-old on a permanent basis.
Posting the update via Twitter yesterday, Tanzi states that the French outfit are already negotiating with the Premier League champions over a potential transfer. Meanwhile, James Pearce of The Athletic UK has revealed that the deal is advanced with a medical scheduled for Monday.
Adam Lewis, a Liverpool academy graduate, made his senior debut for the club last season in the FA Cup fourth-round tie versus Shrewsbury Town. The England youth international only signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool last month.
A loan move away provides the youngster with an excellent opportunity to earn senior experience next season. Amiens were relegated from Ligue 1 in 19/20 after finishing nineteenth in the table and are set to begin their new league campaign next weekend.
