Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka has admitted his admiration for the Premier League champions, Liverpool.
The Reds currently have Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi in the attacking department.
However, Firmino’s hot and cold spells in front of goal have saw the Brazilian draw criticism.
Still flamboyant as ever, Bobby brought flair to the Leicester City match as he skill-fully set up Salah for the opening goal.
Highly rated by Jurgen Klopp, Firmino has started 92% of the Premier League games for the champions scoring six goals.
Often deployed as a false nine, Liverpool have suffered without a out-and-out striker in their artillery when they play against low block sides.
With Jordan Henderson and Fabinho forced to be used as makeshift centre-backs, the six-time Champions League winners have been lacking creativity as they look to end three straight home defeats as Everton make the short trip across Stanley Park.
However, with the transfer window just a few months away, there are already reports of Liverpool strengthening their ranks with Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Sven Botmann linked with a move to Anfield.
The 22-year-old, Daka, is no different. But the three-time Austrian Bundesliga winner has not minced his words when he confessed his love for the 19-time English champions.
Speaking to 90 Min’s French website, the Zambian forward said: “I’ve always been a fan of Liverpool and Barcelona,“
Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield faithful caught a glimpse of the forward as they faced RB Salzburg in the Champions League group stage, last season. Daka got to witness a European night at Anfield first hand, he said: “When we played Liverpool last season in the Champions League at Anfield, it was a very special moment.”
His love of the five-time Champions League winners, Barcelona, and the Reds is down to Luis Suarez’s time at both clubs.
The tenacious Uruguayan forward now plies his trade at Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone, the 34-year-old is an inspiration for the hot-prospect, “The other dream was to face Luis Suarez. He’s the one that impressed me the most. He has always been one of my inspirations since I was a kid. It was really special and I was able to exchange my jersey with him.”
With 13 goals in as many appearances for Salzburg, Daka is valued at £18 million with three years remaining on his contract in Austria, but could we see him in a Liverpool shirt come the first game of the new season?
