Liverpool visited King Power stadium to play against third placed Leicester City, in dire Hope’s of getting their form back. Unfortunately, it was another disaster. After dominating for 70 minutes, Liverpool succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester, who scored 3 in the space of 6 minutes.
Here are the ratings the players have managed to accumulate:
Alisson Becker 4.5
Was very alert. Made a big save in the first half, preventing Leicester to be 1-0 up at halftime. Had a very good game until he made that extremely reckless mistake which gave Leicester the lead and ultimately cost us. Very poor.
Trent Alexander-Arnold 6.5
Trent had a very well balanced game. He was very solid defensively and was creating beautiful chances with his crosses. Was the best in the backline today.
Ozan Kabak 5.5
Not a bad debut. He didn’t have to do much. He is evidently not used to playing in a highline, to which I am sure he will adapt quickly. Second goal was not his fault, he didn’t know Alisson was coming out.
Jordan Henderson 6.5
Jordan Henderson vs Jamie Vardy, the highlight of the first half. While Hendo has brilliant going forward, he had his work cut out at the back as well with Jamie Vardy having a good game as well. Was everywhere. Switched off, like every Liverpool player, after the Vardy goal.
Andrew Robertson 5
Same old Robbo, also tried to bang one in the bottom corner in the first half but to no avail.
James Milner 4
Georginio Wjinaldum 4.5
Two sides to this. On one hand, his ball retention has been wondrous, and the way he is winning back balls is good as well, but it has been frustrating to not see him make as many progressive passes as he should have made. Substituted for Shaqiri.
Curtis Jones 5
Had a good game, with some off moments. Very prominent in the game. Substituted for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Sadio Mané 4.5
Mané had an absolutely shocking start. Another one of his off days.
Roberto Firmino 5
Bobby had an okay-okay game but his finishing remains to be woeful. His pass for Salah, though, was disgusting.
Mohamed Salah 5.5
Made a tonne of runs but kept on getting stifled by the tight Leicester defense. Could have easily scored if he had done better with that beautiful Trent ball in the first half. Scored his 23rd goal of the football campaign, but all in vain, ultimately.
Thiago Alcantara 4.5
Poor game by his standards. Kept on losing the ball after trying to do too much. Gave away the freekick for the equalizer after a careless challenge.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain N/A
Xherdan Shaqiri N/A
