What happens when one of the biggest games in the world tries to predict the future of one of the biggest football clubs of the world? Only 2 players from the current batch are still at the club in 2030. Trent Alexander Arnold, at 31 years old, is captain of the club. He took the armband from the now Olympic Marseille u19s manager Virgil Van Djik in 2027, who led the side for 4 years after taking over from Henderson. Henderson himself had a spell with Barcelona from 2024-2026, when he joined the spanish giants for £5.25 million.
All of the front three ended up in Spain. Salah, only a year after being named African footballer of the year, was released on a free transfer to Real San Sebastián in 2027. He retired in 2029 after a disappointing loan spell at Celtic. Both Firmino and Mane had periods at Barcelona. Firmino left the reds in 2023, and went on to play in 87 games for Barcelona. He reunited with Salah for a season at Real San Sebastián before retiring in 2027. Mane ended his career at Barcelona, where he only made 2 appearances at the club in 2 seasons.

The current young stars all ended up leaving the club, with only two staying in the premier league. Harvey Elliot never had a full season at the club, playing a high of 8 games in one season for the club. Having had multiple loan spells at West Ham, he ended up signing for Leicester for £35.5 million. At 27 years old he is a regular starter valued at roughly £44 million.
Curtis Jones left the club for £57 million in 2026, joining Atletico Madrid where he is currently valued at £62 million at 29 years old. Neco Williams stayed with the club until 2030, when he left for Wolves for £20.5 million. He is seen as an important player for them and is valued at £40 million. After a loan move to Seattle in 2021, Ben Woodburn joined Getafe on a free transfer. He enjoyed 4 seasons in Spain before joining SC paderborn 07 in Germany for £3.5 million. He then had 2 seasons at Watford and currently plays for Turn-Und Sportverein Hartberg in Austria.
The club itself, now managed by Pep Guardiola, boasts an impressive 5 premier league titles, 1 Champions league title and 3 Fa Cups in the time period. The notable signings from the club are Phil Foden who joined from Spurs in 2025 for £81 million, and Erling Haaland, who left Dortmund in 2022 for £81 million. In 8 seasons he bagged himself 131 goals and managed 35 assists.
With Klopp leaving the club in 2030 Pep becomes manager of Liverpool in 2030 having being sacked by Man City the year prior. Klopp after being offered the Barcelona job appointed Luis Suarez as assistant manager of the club and Mbappe as captain.
Away from Merseyside
Away from Liverpool, Messi retired in 2025 at Barcelona. He unfortunately never won an international trophy, although he did place runner up in two Copa America’s before his retirement. He in now unemployed as a manager. Cristiano left Juventus in 2022, joining PSG. He retired in 2025 as well but never entered management.
