Liverpool are facing yet another injury in their squad. After Jurgen Klopp announced that Ben Davies had picked up a knock in training, James Milner was forced off in the 17th minute.

In a match that has seen Liverpool execute high press after high press, James Milner came up limping and needed to be subbed off with an injury.

Even the commentators made a statement on how bizarre the Reds’ injuries this season have been. The 35 year-old gadget player was being deployed in a central midfield role. Recently he has been played as a left-back, right-back, and even a central defender at times.

Liverpool Injury Crisis Continues

After being forced off Jurgen Klopp replaced the aging midfielder with Thiago Alcantara. Thiago, who has been a staple in the Liverpool XI as of late, was left out of the starting lineup in favour of Milner.

The clubs’s injury list keeps on growing and is enough to make any Liverpool supporter wince in pain. It currently includes James Milner, Ben Davies, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, and Fabinho.

If you look at Liverpool’s historic title season last year, three of the injured players started in almost every match. The other players either played a big role starting the odd match or were new signings as of this season.

As it is not yet half time, the extent of James Milner’s injury is not yet known. However, make sure you check LFC Transfer Room out on twitter for constant updates on the matter and everything Liverpool. Once information is released on Milner’s injury you will find it there and shortly after here on the website.

Liverpool currently sit in fourth place on the Premier League table and Leicester City are currently one place ahead of the champions in third place.
