Liverpool forward Rinsola Babajide requested to leave the club in January. As a result of her transfer request, she may be left out of the squad and not play in this weekend’s match against Charlton Athletic.
The 22 year-old signed a new two year deal just eight short months ago and is tied to the club until June of 2022. This contract came after Liverpool’s relegation to the FA Women’s Championship from the FA Women’s Super League.
BBC Sport have reported that Rinsola Babajide would like to return to the Women’s Super League. She is hoping to play in the top flight of England football in an effort to make the England squad.
In an effort to force a move from Liverpool to a Super League side, Rinsola Babajide missed multiple training sessions last week. After finding out that the club was planning on turning down any move, she skipped several training sessions.
However, the young England international has begun training with the squad once again.
