According to ESPN, Liverpool have shown interest in American defender Aaron Long. The Merseyside club have enquired about Aaron Long’s availability on loan.
Liverpool currently have Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip all injured for the forseeable future. This has left them short of options and playing midfielders in the back four.
Joel Matip, who featured in Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, sustained a serious ligament injury in the match.

While MLS league sources tell ESPN that the Red Bulls have not received any formal offers yet, they are expected to come. The European transfer window closes on Monday.
ESPN also reached out to Liverpool themselves, but the club did not officially confirm interest in the American defender.
