Could the Zambian international make the move to Merseyside and follow in the footsteps of Takumi Minamino from Austria?

Patson Daka is reportedly being monitored by a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City, according to a report by The Guardian.

Daka’s explosive speed and eye for goal make him a player that defenders fear.

With 15 goals and five assists in just 17 competitions, it is no surprise that major teams are looking to secure the player’s signature.

As Divock Origi’s departure is becoming seemingly more likely with every passing day, we might see the Zambian join the club as his replacement.

Daka, who was named Africa’s young player of the year in 2017, has also publicly expressed his willingness to move to a Premier League club in the near future, despite the player signing a long-term contract just two years after joining Red Bull Salzburg.

“To see our big brothers like (Pierre-Emerick) Aubameyang, (Mohamed) Salah, (Sadio) Mane, it’s something that gives me the dream that I can also make it,” the Zambian told BBC Sport.

Not only this, but he then went on to praise Sadio Mane afterwards,

“I think when people are making those kind of comparisons, it’s great,

Looking at the status of Sadio Mane, the kind of football he plays and the kind of person that he is.

If the player were to join any Premier League club, he would become the first Zambian to play in England’s top flight since Southampton’s Emmanuel Mayuka.

On the other hand, should he join Liverpool, he would join Sadio Mane, Naby Keita, and Takumi Minamino, as players who have played for the Austrian giants.

Currently valued at £18m according to Transfermarkt, his price tag is sure to increase should his goalscoring rate grow or continue.

With multiple reports stating that Liverpool are adamant that they will not be bringing in signings in the January transfer market without a plan, if the striker were to join the Reds it would likely be in the Summer.
